Before I dive into my personal story, I want to provide background on how taking care of plants can help you cope with your depression and anxiety. It never dawned on me during my plant journey that these two worlds existed. I would label this hobby “self-care” it’s something that makes me feel good, and I don’t get tired of doing it; who doesn’t enjoy playing in the dirt? Something about that keeps me grounded and focused.

Plant care has contributed to one’s mood, relieving stress, prolonging attention span, and boosting self-esteem.

I would encourage you all to walk around the gardening section at your local Home Depot or Lowe’s and find a plant that speaks to you; once you talk with a worker about the care and voila, you’re a plant parent.
